Forum meeting 25.02.04
The first Forum meeting for 2004 was held on 25 February at the City of Port Adelaide Enfield.
Members discussed stormwater management and flood mitigation in detail, including the most appropriate arrangements for the ongoing administration of stormwater in metropolitan Adelaide, possibly utlilising a corporate stormwater entity. The Septic Tank Effluent Disposal Scheme (STEDS) was also discussed. Forum members endorsed the work of the STEDS Advisory Committee to ensure the future sustainable management of all STED schemes on South Australia.
Other topics on the Forum agenda for the February meeting included strategic public land assessment and supply, the sharing of compliance functions between State and Local Government, and regional passenger transport. Short updates on economic development, development planning and the report Rates and Taxes : A Fair Share for Responsible Local Government were also provided to members.
