Forum meeting 6 July 2005
The second meeting of the Minister's Local Government Forum for 2005 was held at Old Parliament House
Stormwater Management and Flood Mitigation continues to be a major topic of discussion for the Forum. The Urban Stormwater Initiative Group are continuing work on governance and funding for stormwater across the metropolitan area, as Cabinet has approved the Stormwater Management Policy for South Australia.
The Minister for Infrastructure, the Hon Patrick Conlon MP provided the Forum with a verbal update on the progress of the Strategic Infrastructure Plan for South Australia, emphasising the need for State and Local Government to collaborate fully in order to meet South Australia's infrastructure needs.
Other topics on the Forum agenda included STEDS, the Strategic Assessment of Public Land, Regional and Rural Landfills and Regional Passenger Transport.
