Forum meeting 01.12.04
The final meeting of the Minister's Local Government Forum for 2004 was hosted by the City of Playford at the Playford Council Chambers.
The issues regarding Stormwater Management and Flood Mitigation were further progressed with the Forum endorsing the concept of a legally-binding Agreement between State and Local Government on Stormwater Management .
Minister McEwen and the President of the LGA signed the STEDS Program Funding Agreement, which incorporates the new basis for the allocation of STEDS funding for 2004/05 and 2005/06.
Dr Paul Vogel, Chief Executive of the Environment Protection Authority, advised the Forum of progress on the draft agreement between the EPA and LGA regarding the sharing of environment protection responsibilities, which was followed by extensive discussion.
Other topics on the Forum agenda included South Australia's Strategic Plan, LGA Proposal – Resourcing SA Councils and Regional Passenger Transport, as well as various update reports.Related documents (PDF)
