Consultation Flowchart - Legislative Proposals

The Minister's State/Local Government Forum has developed a Consultation Flowchart - Legislative Proposals under the State-Local Government Relations Agreement to recognise the shared intention of State and Local Government to improve consultation and communication practices between the two spheres.

The purpose of the Consultation Flowchart - Legislative Proposals is to provide a communication and consultation guide to the State Government and Local Government during the development of legislative proposals that have a significant impact on Local Government. Guiding the relationship provides for greater certainty of process as the State and Local Government sectors work more closely together on developing significant legislative change impacting on Local Government.

Accompanying the Consultation Flowchart, the Office for State/Local Government Relations has produced a short summary paper to expand upon aspects of the Consultation Flowchart. This paper is designed to assist State agencies.
